The final project recalls all you have learned in this course this semester
It should be minimum 300 words and counts 50% of your Final Mark
Class period 1 (Jan 17-19) Write a thesis and 3 reasons
Goals for the class
What you produce during this class
Class period 2 (Jan 22-23) Write a paragraph about each reason to support the thesis
Research your topic
In your shared Google Doc
- Write a complete paragraph (at least three sentences) about what you find in each of your three web sites that you can use to support your thesis.
Begin each paragraph with the main idea that supports your thesis. Do NOT try to meet this requirement by copy/pasting from the website. Write this in your own words.
- Match one of these paragraphs with each of the three reasons you wrote in class 1.
- Add a paragraph explaining what are the next steps in your research project.
Use some of the process markers you learned during this course.
It may be that one or more websites you found the day before don’t really have information to support your topic. In that case, you’ll have to replace them.
Use a minimum of three websites. Four or more is better (higher mark)
In this class you must write one paragraph for each reason explaining exactly what you found in those websites that help you develop your thesis.
Be sure you write this in your own words. Do NOT simply copy and paste from web sites. You need to show what YOU understand, and how your relate the facts you find to your thesis.

Class period 3 (Jan 24-26) Complete 5 paragraph essay in Google Docs
Write your report in your Google Doc. You should have 5 paragraphs, minimum 300 words.

- explains what it is about and why it is important,
- states the thesis,
- and says briefly how you will support it in your report

(in the order they are to be presented)
- Introduces the first main reason to support the thesis.
It introduces evidence from one of the websites to help you make your first point.
- Introduces the 2nd main reason to support the thesis.
It introduces evidence from another of the websites to help you make your point.
- Introduces the 3rd main reason to support the thesis.
It introduces evidence from another of the websites to help you make your point.
- Reviews why you think your thesis is true.
Your conclusion summarizes the main points you made to support your thesis.
Your conclusion should mention the reasons you are writing about
(in the order they were presented)
For day three of the project, you expand your work in Google Docs to 5 paragraphs, and also make your other three paragraphs longer. To do that, use information from the websites you have found (at least one website for each reason).
If you use words directly from the website, put quote marks around them and indicate in parentheses where you got those words exactly, like this: “Put words you copy from websites in quote marks like this.” (in parentheses, write from http:// etc.)
